Our mission: Provide the finest quality insurance coverage and customer service at affordable prices to a broad array of Michigan and Indiana businesses.
Because we were originally established by Michigan Retailers Association, our focus in the early years was the hard-working store owners who help our communities thrive. As our reputation for quality coverage and dependability spread, we are now the preferred insurer for a wide variety of businesses.
Our roots date back to 1981.
That’s when MRA established its own group self-insured fund to provide lower-cost, quality workers’ compensation insurance for retail businesses. To expand beyond covering retail, Retailers Fund was converted in 2006 to an insurance company. Retailers Insurance also offers small-group dental insurance administered by Delta Dental.
Because we are a homegrown Michigan-based business, we understand the needs and concerns of Midwest companies and organizations. We look forward to serving the workers’ compensation and dental insurance needs of your business.
Financial Strength
Retailers Insurance Company’s finances are reviewed each year by Demotech, a national actuarial financial analysis and consulting firm that provides financial stability ratings for property and casualty insurers. We are proud to say that we have been awarded “A” ratings each year since we became a company in 2006.
